Over the years the owner has turned this property into a model working farm, producing some of the finest white and red wines in South Africa.

The reason for his success is based on the following: a minimum of irrigation combined with the removal of a considerable percentage of the immature bunches (known as green harvesting) from each vine and terrior. The remaining grapes have superior quality and flavour when ripe. These very low yields are then put through a cold extraction process and low-pressure pressing, resulting in highly concentrated wines which are all barrel matured. These procedures combined with the greater than usual day-night temperature gradients and the extraordinary long sunshine hours of the area make for exceptional wines.

Only the highest quality grapes produced on the farm are used for pressing. The remainder, still of an exceptional quality, is eagerly sought by other winemaking establishments as Boschendal, Tokara and L’Ormarins.
