The Farm Lammershoek is situated about 50km from Cape Town between Paarl and Malmesbury off the R45.
The Farm is a well known Wine Estate. A small olive orchard (900 trees) is in full production for high quality oil.
Over the years the owner has transformed Lammershoek into a model farm producing some of the best Red and White wines. Most of the wines produced in Lammershoek’s wine cellars have received accolades from Wine Experts, among others the well respected John Platter.
The success can be credited to the following:
a) Minimum irrigation.
b) Thinning known as green harvesting is practiced in the vineyard before ripening starts. This results in the remaining bunches having exceptional quality and flavour.
c) Relative low yield are then subjected to a cold extraction process and gentle pressing. This results in highly concentrated wine flavours that are placed in barrels to mature.
d) These procedures, including higher than average day/night temperature variations, combined with extra long sunlight hours and the ‘terrior’ of the area, ads up to an exceptional end product.
e) The farm is in full conversion to organic practice.
The end product is of such a high quality that the majority is sold to discerning buyers overseas.
Lammershoek wines are made from only the finest quality grapes on the farm. The balance of grapes, still of exceptional quality, are sold to Wine Cellars such as The Sadie Family, Mullineux Wines, Tokara and many others to be used in their blending processes.
Lammershoek stands out as a farm producing exceptional quality wines from a modern cellar with talented management. Rarely does a farm of this caliber and income come into the market.
